Snarling as his foot slips on what is left of some undead Krod takes the full brunt of the blow from the metal beast. Stepping back for some swinging room ((H10)) Krod focuses all his fury and attacks on the spiked beast ((O3))

KAI

Kai, figuring that any creature that tries to avoid being struck should fear being hit, feints at the spectre with his mace, hoping to draw it out of position.

Kai follows up with a flurry of attacks, leading off with his short sword.

Tumbling to get into better position to attack the skeleton, Korwin doesn’t realize the spectre that has recently risen and pulls too close. The spectre reaches out instinctively and but Korwin is able to dodge out of the way at the last second.

Korwin renews his attack and easily trips the skeleton.

Krod, trying to stay out of reach of the metal monster, steps back and unleashes two heavy swipes of his chain. The first clanks off the beasts’ armor harmlessly while the second hits the beast solidly.

The newborn spectre, now released from its daze, continues to focus upon Korwin. Korwin is even more ready this time and dodges out of the way with ease.

Kai attempts to trick the spectre with some flashy weapon work, but the spectre sees right through it. The first blow from Kai’s mace passes right through the spectre as if it wasn’t there, while the follow up sword strike hits. The second mace attack misses, but its third hits while the second sword blow misses really badly.

Meanwhile, one of the beasts to the south (O1) swings the elf it’s holding over its shoulder and impales it on its back. With two bodies now on its back, the spikes are starting to fill up.

The remaining hasted elves (10 & 11) press on against the metal beast (O1), but all four halberd blows glance off its heavy armor.

The naked elf exclaims, “Finally, something that works.” Realizing he is too close to one of the beast to cast a spell safely, he moves back a step and mumbles another spell, focusing on the beast closest (O3).

The battle continues to rage around the party members. While the zombies and skeletons were the first to fall, the spectre was able to call forth a few spawn. The cadaver collectors continue to put more elven bodies on their backs. Krod, Korwin and Kai, along with the mage and the smith (who overcame his paralyzation) fight a retreating battle against the spectres (which now number 5). A missed blow from Kai gets met with the stinging touch of one of the spectres and the cold pain from the attack causes Kai to lose consciousness.
