Once he reaches the bottom of the stairs, Kai will take a look at where he is. If he is in a corridor with only one direction to go, he will cautiously advance down the corridor.

Kai finds himself in a twenty foot square room with three heavy wooden doors, one in each of the other walls. The door designs are intricate and obviously carved with care.

Kai checks the designs on each door, checking whether or not the designs seem to indicate anything about what is beyond. (Do the doors resemble each other or are the designs different?)

While the designs are different, they reveal nothing about what is behind them.

Kai will search each door for traps and locking/release mechanisms.

Search left door (1d20 + 9 + 10) = 11 + 9 + 10 = 30

Search center door (1d20 + 9 + 10) = 9 + 9 + 10 = 28

Search right door (1d20 + 9 + 10) = 5 + 9 + 10 = 24

Kai finds no traps on any of the doors, but does find that while closed, none of the doors are locked.

Kai attempts to quietly open the left door and takes a look at what is beyond.

Kai sees a long hallway that wraps to the right just at the end of his vision.

KAI

Kai will cautiously advance to the corner and carefully peek around the corner, using the torch to illuminate the area while using the wall as cover.

The corridor appears unbroken and straight as far as Kai can see.

Kai will continue around the corner and down the corridor, again proceeding cautiously.

Within fifteen feet, Kai notices the corridor branches at a T-intersection, with the passage going left and continuing straight.

Kai will, again, use the wall as cover and check each of the corridors using the torch.

Coming up to the intersection, Kai notices that the straight passage continues past the point of his vision. Peaking around the corner, Kai sees another sturdy wooden door inset in the wall.

Taking note of the door, Kai will explore the corridor straight ahead, again proceeding cautiously.

Kai finds that equadistance from the central offshoot corridor to the beginning the passage again turns right, as if going in a circle.

Kai will again use the wall as cover while he checks the corridor to the right and, if it shows another corridor, will cautiously explore this one as well.

Kai does find a further corridor. Exploring cautiously, Kai finds it branches four ways (one being the way he came from).

Using the same tactics as before, Kai will explore the right-hand corridor. (in theory, heading back in the direction that he ultimately started from)

Kai turns to the right and stops short at another heavy wooden door. Glancing behind him, he notices the corridor continues into darkness.

Kai will check this door for traps and, if none are found, test it to see if it is locked.

Search (1d20 + 9 + 10) = 6 + 9 + 10 = 25

Kai finds no traps and the door is unlocked.

KAI

Kai will cautiously open the door and peer into the room, using the torch to illuminate it.

Kai opens the door which, as soon as he opens it, pulls out of his hand and opens more fully the Kai would have liked. To top this off, the door creaks as it opens fully.

Kai immediately sees that three goblins, dark in color, populate the room, slightly surrounding the figure of a very tall naked women in a cage. Four sets of eyes fix upon Kai, three of them hostile.

Kai notices, in his peripheral vision, a large hole in the ground to his right. Small rock litter the ground around the room, mostly around the hole. A fire is burning in the corner to his left, with some firewood nearby in case the fire gets low.

Round 1 Begins

Kai, seeing the hostility in the goblins' eyes, drops the everburning torch and begins to draw his second short sword as he begins to move forward. (details to come based on initiative)
