KORWIN

Using the last of his Ki powers, Korwin takes a 5' step to E3 and fades from view, only to reappear moments later with his chain whirling toward the huge beast as he strikes with what he hopes is precision and accuracy.

Krod's face breaks out in a grin as chaos reigns all about him. Krod love chaos! Seeing orcs moving about he begins a wide sweeping arc of his chain attempting to catch as many of the orcs in it's path as he can.

Grunting in satisfaction Krod watches with some surprise as such a huge beast actually can climb the trees.

Swinging his chain around and around, Krod misses the first orc but makes up for it by smacking the next three in succession, dropping them all.

The orc nearest the party looks at the huge monster that just killed three of his companions in one hit each, looks at the small gnome that just missed the dragon and, with a grin, steps forward and attacks. The grin fades as Korwin easily dodges the attack.

The other two orcs also notice Krod take down their companions. With a quick glance at the retreating dragon, and a quick glance at each other, the two orcs turn tail and run.

Glancing briefly at the retreating winged beast Krod instead focuses on enemies he can reach and with a backhanded flick of his wrist brings the chain to bear on the nearest orc

Grunting with satisfaction as the chain bites deep into the orc Krod jerks it back quickly causing it to rip as it comes back to him.

KORWIN

Korwin reaches out to touch Krod with his left hand as he activates his healing belt with his right, expending a single charge and allowing the healing energy to flow through him to the big warrior.

"Well done Krod! Let's see if you can bring down that big beast! I'll just heal you up a bit so you can rejoin the battle."

I'm so proud of that big guy. He's a good one to have for a friend, to be sure.

Kai watches the dragon work its way up through the trees, briefly considers his options and decides that discretion is the better part of valor and watches the creature flee, ready to move himself out of the way if it turns back. While watching, he activates his belt, allowing it to ease his wounds.

Krod grins and nods to Korwin. "Krod like fight, it was good fight." Seeing no further enemies in sight except the beast winging away Krod instinctively relaxes and lets his rage subside...for now.

KORWIN

(( If the dragon really is leaving, then Korwin takes the following action. ))

Frowning slightly as the healing energy flowing through his body barely registers, Korwin depresses the last stone on his belt, providing Krod with more healing.

Healing Belt: 2d8 = 14

Eyes searching the surrounding jungle for more threats, Korwin watches the beast fly away and scowls. "We'll need to search the bodies of these orcs, the giant wolf, and the sorceress at the top of the hill. Let's gather anything useful and meet at the top of the hill where the sorceress died."

Business-like and focused once more on the task at hand, Korwin begins looting the orcs for anything useful, including unusual items such as journals or scraps of paper that might contain orders or messages.

Feeling the familiar warmth of the belt's healing brings Krod's thoughts back to his wounds. Checking himself out he nods at Korwin as he presses his last stone for the day as well to heal up more of his wounds. "Krod thank Korwin."

Kai presses the final stone on his belt as well, and begins assisting with the searching of the bodies.

Gods but that was a close call...Dragons for bounty hunters? Just who the hell is the leader of this army???

The dragon, unchallenged by the party, makes quick work climbing the rest of the trees. As it reaches the top, it unfurls massive wings and takes off. Glaring down at the party, you are sure you are going to hear a trite line, but instead it heads off to the northeast.

Watching the dragon flee without much they can do about it, the party spends time healing each other and searching through the bodies. The orcs are carrying standard studded leather armor and longswords of good quality, much as the last group of orcs they fought did. ((7 Masterwork Studded Leathers and 7 Masterwork Longswords))

The sorceress was carrying a load of equipment that is quickly stripped, categorized and stowed. ((A cloak, a haversack the twin to Korwins, as is the mug and rations, an Everburning Torch, a bedroll, a healer’s kit, three flasks filled with differing liquids (one labeled HW, one labeled AF, and one labeled A), and a waterskin))

The wolf is not carrying anything except a special designed quiver that is within easy reach of the rider. The quiver has 18 arrows in it.

As Korwin and Kai search the grounds, Korwin notices a gleam out of the corner of his eye in the spot where Silar turned into the dragon. Moving to look closer, Korwin finds in the brush the bow Silar was using as well as a key on a simple leather rope. The rope is ripped.

((NOTE: Since nobody has the ability to detect magic, other then the obvious items I didn’t describe what is magical and what is not.))

The dwarf stands around impatiently as all the searching is complete, muttering “We should really be going!” to himself just within earshot of each of the party members.

((According to my tracker, I have Korwin at full health, Krod 12 down and Kai 3 down. I will posting exp shortly.))

KORWIN

Korwin looks at the assortment of loot and nods to the dwarf, "I agree, but Krod is fatigued as am I, and I would appreciate an opportunity to rest before moving on. This hill seems defensible, unless this place you are leading us to is not far? And perhaps a bit more secure?"

Pondering what to carry and what to leave behind, Korwin says, "Obviously we should carry this key, as well as the items for the sorceress. I think we should keep Silar's bow, and his arrows. The armor and longswords I think we can leave behind unless anyone has any objections? We'll need to find someone who can identify these items for us, now that our sorceress is dead..."

Korwin checks over his equipment, making sure that everything is stowed and secured, quickly wipes the worst of the flesh and blood off of his spiked chain before coiling it again and hanging it at his belt.

There will be time later for a thorough cleaning, but for now, I'd either like to fall down and sleep forever, or get moving to our destination... wherever that may be.

He looks up expectantly, waiting for the others to offer their suggestions and comments as he stashes the key in one of his belt pouches, and stows the arrows and bow inside his haversack.

I may need to learn how to use a ranged weapon 'ere long. Perhaps this one will do...

Stuffing the sorceress' belongings into her old haversack, Korwin hands it to Krod and then turns to Kai and says, "When we get where we're going and can identify all these items, we'll orchestrate a fair and equitable distribution of all the loot, if that sounds reasonable to you?"

The dwarf looks at Korwin and states, "We could probably have made it there before Silar showed up, but the decision was to fight, and worthwhile the fight was. Silar won't show back up for a couple weeks while he heals. But we still have to worry about Nar and Pisar. The elven encampment is only an hour away or so, travelling slowly, and you all can rest easy there."

KORWIN

Korwin grins tiredly as he listens to this information. "That is good news indeed! Lead us then."

Considering Kai and Krod, Korwin states, "I think you should lead, my fine dwarf, then Krod, then me, and Kai, if you would be so good as to provide protection from behind us as we travel?"

Making one last search of the grounds to make sure he didn't miss anything, Korwin disappears around the side of the hill, and finding a secluded tree, unties his loose breeches and drops them. Grasping onto the tree trunk, he leans backwards, squatting down and defecates into the jungle undergrowth. Wiping himself with some fresh moss, Korwin covers the steaming pile with some dirt and leaves,and hitches his breeches back up before returning to the group. Cinching the straps down on his haversack and with a nod of his head he indicates that he is ready to travel.
