DG Chapter 2: The Aftermath

(2 crit fails on initiative. Ouch.)

Order: Brudegan, Chayli, Tyrian, Enemy, Regana, Modis

Because this is a pretty simple battle, I'm foregoing a map. Just describe your actions. Brudegan, Regana, and Chayli are within one move action of the enemy, while Tyrian and Modis are two move actions (or one charge) away. There are trees to take cover behind.

Brudegan gets hit in the chest with two fire bolts takes a small moment to regain his composure. He then, without hesitation, turns to Regana and says, "Run back to Tyrian and Modis". Brudegan drops the torch in the middle of the path and quickly moves a small distance into the tree cover and conceals himself out of sight from the attacker.

Tyrian moves up, upon seeing Brudegan get hit. He draws and fires an arrow at the attacker.

-Tyrian moves up with one move action as close to the enemy as possible.

ATTACK: 12+5 = 17
DAMAGE:1+1=2 +4 = 6 (sneak attack if applicable)

Chayli looks a little concerned, "I ... I didn't even sense it." The tiny dragon lets loose her own fiery blast at the enemy, then retreats back to Modis as Tyrian takes his shot.

(Enemy takes 6 fire damage.)

Tyrian's attack appears to hit its mark, but a metallic 'tink' sounds as the arrow strikes a hard surface. The enemy lurches forward, exposing itself on the road as it travels into the torchlight. Standing almost four feet tall, the creature appears to be made of iron or steel. It has a roughly humanoid body with four arms, each wielding a scimitar. It strides forth on four powerful legs.

The creature lets loose another fiery bolt, this time directed at Chayli, who appears to have damaged it with her breath weapon. Chayli giggles, "Hehe, that tickles!"

(Chayli is immune to fire.)

Regana follows her companion's advice and retreats to Tyrian and Modis.
She casts Doom on the creature as she does.

The metal creature doesn't appear to be affected by the necromantic, mind-affecting, fear effect. It may be immune to one or more of those spell aspects, or not alive in the first place ... or both.

Modis charges the creature and attacks with his katana.

Attack roll: 17+6+2=25

Damage roll: 7+4=11

Brudegan sees Modis's attack and moves silently parallel to the path but staying in the shadows. He moves as far as he can in an attempt to get behind the monster. While moving he creates his spiked shield and battleaxe from the orb and from seeing Tyrian's arrow not penetrate, he beckons the orb to change into a stronger material.

Hide: 14 +8 =22

Modis' blade grinds against the creature, sending sparks flying in all directions. However, it only leaves a deep scratch in its metal body.

(Modis deals 6 damage to the creature.)

Meanwhile, Brudegan's weapons take on the dull, dark hue of gray indicative of Adamantine.

(Moving at half speed while being stealthy, Brudegan will need to take another move action to get into a flanking position with Modis next round.)

Chayli, realizing the danger of the situation, decides to stay put and wait for her breath weapon to recharge.

(It's Tyrian's turn.)

Tyrian raises his hand, gesturing towards the metal beast. He barks an unknown word, and a bolt of magic energy darts out and strikes the creature.

Magic Missile:1 +1 = 2

The member 'maquise' has done the following action : Dice Rolls

'd4' : 1

The bolt slams into the creature and damages it further. However, the metal monster now swings viciously at Modis with all four scimitars. Due to his decreased defenses from charging the creature, every weapon strikes true and Modis takes grievous wounds as blood flows freely from his body.

(Modis takes 17 damage.)
